25th Annual
A Taste of Hilo

October 15, 2023
1:00 – 3:00 pm
Sangha Hall

Silent Auction Dates:
October 9 – October 15, 2023

Auction pick up will occur on-site.

In 2020 A Taste of Hilo went virtual. We launched our first-ever online silent auction. New platforms and a new format provided us the opportunity to perpetuate our tradition in a different way. We’ve picked up a few things over the past three years as the success of our silent auction has built upon itself.

With your help and the help of many others in our community, we’ve graciously made financial contributions to Hawaiʻi Community College toward their workforce development programs. We hope that you may find yourself as either a corporate sponsor, or a donor making contributions toward our silent auction through gift certificate(s), product(s), or services. Your help supports higher education, the JCCIH and the local food and beverage industry.

Taste of Hilo is a fundraiser for JCCIH and the Hawai‘i Community College. Over the years, the Chamber has donated to HawCC for scholarships, facility improvements and program development.  A portion from every store item sold will benefit the Hawai’i Community College.

This is a pre-order store.  Please allow 3-4 weeks for blank goods to be purchased, produced, and packaged.  For pick-up at the Taste of Hilo event on Sunday, October 15th, 2023, we kindly ask that orders are placed no later than Sunday, September 17th, 2023. Otherwise, all other orders will be made for pick-up at Creative Arts Hawaii.

If individuals would like to send orders to neighbor islands or the Continental US for an additional fee, we also have USPS available for shipping, too.

Started in 1998, the annual A Taste of Hilo showcases more than 30 of the island’s tastemakers and beverage purveyors. Attendees enjoy sweet and savory delights created by chefs, restaurants and patisseries, and sample locally crafted beer, wine and sake.

The event is a great way to taste flavors and ingredients unique to the islands. Each year, a different local ingredient is featured. Other local products featured at A Taste of Hilo have included Big Island Abalone, sturgeon, pasture-raised beef, kampachi and blue fin tuna.

Taste of Hilo is a fundraiser for the Hawai‘i Community College culinary program. Over the years, the Chamber has donated to HawCC for scholarships, facility improvements and program development. Culinary students participate by hosting a food station.
